The Great Commission to Teach Disciples to
Worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth
You shall know the truth about David's Tabernacle Worship being God's will for today (ACTS 15) and that truth will set you free to worship the father in FREEDOM with the full praise spectrum given to us from Heaven as we praise using our spirit, soul, and body.
Thanks to one of the pastors at a Tabernacle of David Church, where I completed my first full Heaven's Worship Restoration ministry outreach about 10 years ago, I was recently given an important matter to investigate. The revelation herein is the result of that important inquiry.
There is a direct and profound connection between the Great Commission and Jesus’ words on worshiping the Father in Spirit and in Truth. He wants disciples taught to be worshipers.
Here is the biblical link, stated plainly and without adding or subtracting from the text: In the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20) Jesus says: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
The command is not merely to make converts or to teach a few selected doctrines. It is to make disciples — lifelong learners and obedient ones who are taught to observe everything Jesus commanded during His earthly ministry.
In Jesus’ command on Worship (John 4:23–24), which was given earlier in His ministry, Jesus told the Samaritan woman: “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship HIM must worship HIM in Spirit and in truth.” The word "must" is commandment language on the lips of Jesus.
This is not a side comment or optional advice. It is a clear, authoritative declaration from Jesus about how the Father must be worshiped. It is therefore part of “all that I have commanded you” that is given in The Great Commission.
The Logical Connection:
Because the Great Commission explicitly requires that disciples of Jesus Christ be taught to observe everything Jesus commanded, it necessarily includes teaching them what Jesus commanded about worship.
In other words:
1) Making disciples = teaching them to obey all of Jesus’ instructions.
2) One of those instructions is: “Those who worship the Father must do so in spirit and in truth.”
3) Therefore, all disciples (not just a special few) must be taught to become true worshipers who worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth.
The Great Commission does not create two classes of Christians (some who “do the work” and others who “just worship” ). Every disciple is called to be a worshiper who obeys Jesus’ command on worship. Teaching people to worship the Father in spirit and in truth is not an optional add-on to discipleship; it is discipleship, because it is part of “all that I have commanded you.” It is an essential part of The Great Commission given by Jesus Christ.
In short:
1) The mission is to make disciples of all nations.
2) The curriculum is everything Jesus taught.
3) Worship “in spirit and in truth” is one of the things Jesus taught.
4) Therefore, every disciple is to be formed into a true worshiper who knows, practices, and teaches what Jesus said about worshiping the Father in Spirit and in truth.
That connection is not a stretch—it flows straight from the plain words of the two passages read together. The Father is seeking true worshipers, and the Great Commission is the means by which the church goes into all the world to teach people how to be true praisers. Heaven's Worship Restoration Ministries is an apostolic ministry doing exactly that.
Worshiping the Father in spirit and truth is the ultimate purpose of our redemption. As disciples, we are all called to grow in this: learning more of the truth about the things that tickle the heart of God while letting the Spirit stir our hearts to love and adore Him more fully. This is the kind of worship that pleases God — and the kind Jesus died to produce.
One of the ways we worship in truth is to look at what happened in the Tabernacle of David, which the Prophet Amos said would be restored again in the New Testament Church (Acts 15:16–17). Extended worship takes place in the Tabernacle of David, even 24 hour worship.

This is one of the truths that should be taught to and carried out by true disciple worshipers. There are others, but I am writing this paragraph to bless a Pastor I know of who questioned long worship being relevant in light of the Great Commission. Now we know that extended worship is one of the truths of the Great Commission to teach disciples of Jesus Christ.

This is a powerful biblical insight. David pitched a tent for the Ark in Jerusalem (2 Samuel 6; 1 Chronicles 15–16) and established continuous extended worship (not a McDonald's fast food worship of 20 minutes) with singing, instruments, dancing, thanksgiving, and prophetic ministry — day and night, with open access (no separating veil like Moses’ tabernacle).
Our God is not looking for impressive Hollywood type worship production performances, perfect liturgy, or large crowds. He seeks people — broken, redeemed, Spirit-filled people — who know Him truly and respond from the depths of renewed hearts. Disciples break forth with singing and dancing, and greatly extended worship that tickles the heart of Father God.
McDonald's fast food worship ( 20 minutes ) does not tickle the heart of Father God.
Jesus said the hour was now , but he also said "The hour is coming.... when...." and in doing that he was speaking about the fulfillment of the prediction of the Prophet Amos as revealed and announced in Acts 15:16-17. This was the restoration of the Tabernacle of David through the Church. This fulfillment hour that was coming was launched when the Holy Spirit fell upon the upper room 120, and the spirit-filled church began its various ministries.
The reason why there is no full teaching on worship/praise in the New Testament is because things were going smoothly in that area of ministry. Why? They had the Old Testament Scriptures to guide them in the worship and praise essentials that were going on in the various house churches. The Church of Christ denomination should learn from this and add musical instruments to their worship/praise time even though the N.T. doesn't mention them.
In the house churches that developed, they restored the worship ministry essentials of David's Tabernacle, and also had preachers and teachers and miracle workers and the whole five fold ministry etc. I repeat: We are not told anything about the Tabernacle of David truth essentials for worship ministry in the New Testament Scriptures because there were no problems in that area of ministry, so there was no reason to write anything about it. We find out about Tabernacle of David worship in the Old Testament Scriptures. Click it to find out.
But the Spirit-filled Church on Earth is intended to be even greater than the Tabernacle of David in its worship expressions to Father God. Jesus said: Greater things will you do because I go to my Father in Heaven. This includes greater miracles in people's lives, and also greater praise expressions born in Heaven and given by the Holy Spirit. These praise and worship expressions include creative dance movements that tickle the heart of Father God.
It is the goal of Heaven's Worship Restoration Ministries to help fulfill the restoration of the Davidic Tabernacle in each church, but with New Testament power and with the praise culture of Heaven thus fulfilling the prophecy of Amos in many congregations throughout the world. We are obedient to this niche calling that helps fulfill the Great Commission so that Disciples of Jesus Christ are worshiping the Father in Spirit and in Truth through praise dance and in long worship services so that God's will is done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
God is not calling the church to reflect the exact worship in David's tabernacle, but rather wants the church to embrace the essentials found in David's Tent. In the Old Testament days people had to praise to bring about the habitation of God within the praises of his people, but in these post-Pentecost days, the Spirit of God inhabits the believer, and out of the heart of the Spirit-filled believer proceeds the praise expressions of heaven that the church is to reflect, and that creatively exceeds even the worship going on in David's Tabernacle.
The praise culture of Heaven is transferable from man's culture to man's culture. There will be differences of dancing, differences of musical instruments used, differences in the singing when you look at the worship/praise time in a church within the Native American Tribe culture or a church in the African jungle culture etc. etc. etc..... But the essentials of the Tabernacle of David will be manifest in those cultures. See those essentials by clicking here.
This facet of “truth” in worship reveals the Father desiring abandoned, expressive devotion from His people — singing, dancing, prophesying, and ministering to Him night and day, just as David first established in the Tabernacle he set up, and that is now being fulfilled in even a greater way in a few Spirit-filled congregations. The ideal is to have this culture of Heaven expand to all congregations that call themselves Christian. It’s a beautiful invitation for all disciples today to pursue full spectrum worship that reflects the freedom Christ has won.
Full spectrum worship includes praise dance using your body to glorify God. Take heart seniors. Yes, you can also be a praise dancer. You do not need to use your legs. You can do upper body praise dancing. My 98 year old mother was doing this kind of dancing in our home church when she was living. If she can do it, you can upper body dance too.
